YSI is seeking a Cloud Engineer 4 position to join our team. This position is ON-SITE, requiring the candidate to work four to five days a week in North Chesterfield, VA. Local candidates are preferred. The CJIS Cloud Engineer serves as a team leader role to ensure seamless connectivity between interface partners and meeting infrastructure needs across multiple projects. Responsibilities include acting as the central resource for all infrastructure-related tasks, ensuring streamlined communication and accountability. Taking full responsibility for infrastructure connectivity activities, ensuring alignment with project goals. Collaborating with CJIS and PMO members to understand project timelines, proactively addressing delays, and meeting all deadlines. - Taking full responsibility for infrastructure-related tasks and ensuring their successful and timely execution.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for all infrastructure connectivity activities, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Collaborating with CJIS and PMO members to understand project timelines, proactively addressing potential delays, and meeting all deadlines.
- Engaging with partners to facilitate connectivity and ensure project requirements are met effectively.
- Network Connectivity Documentation & IP Management
- Maintaining high-level network connectivity documentation
- Establishing a centralized repository for IP and server details to streamline access and management.
- Assigning accountability for maintaining accurate and up-to-date infrastructure records.
- Preparing and managing firewall rule documents in collaboration with VITA and interface partners.
- Working with VITA partners to test, validate, and implement secure connections within required timelines.
- Ensuring Visibility and System Insights:
- Establishing monitoring tools to gain insight into system performance, dependencies, and health infrastructure.
- Leveraging these insights to proactively address issues and improve system design.
- Developing and maintaining centralized documentation for infrastructure design, IP address management, and connectivity standards.
- Managing critical areas like infrastructure alignment, IP management, and disaster recovery planning to ensure continuity and timely project completion.
Qualifications: - The candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of cloud engineering experience and leading delivery of cloud services.
- 3 years of experience with network infrastructure (IP management, FW, etc)
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and system integration experience
- Must be able to be a self-starter with the ability to perform complex tasks without minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills, especially the ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience.
